I have been having bouts of diarrhea and severe cramping off and on for weeks.  My doctor can't find anything wrong.  This all seems to have come out of the blue.  Any ideas?

The GI system can be very sensitive and impacted by other areas of our life that might seem unrelated.  A STARS physical therapist specializing in bowel and GI problems can assess your situation and certainly give you some strategies to be feeling better again.  For more information, call Deanna at STARS at 367-8989.

I have seen the commercials on TV for "overactive bladder."  I think I have that.  It is so embarrassing to be running to the bathroom all the time!  Can you help?

Overactive bladder is a sudden and emergent need to go to the bathroom.  Typically the faster you hurry, the harder it is to get there dry.  There are simple exercises and strategies you can learn to regain control in just weeks.  You remain fully clothed at all times - no embarrassment!  For more information, call Deanna at STARS at 367-8989.

I like to run and jump on the trampoline with my kids, but lately I notice I leak, even if I just went to the bathroom!  Is there anything I can do?  I am too young to have this problem!

You have stress incontinence, which is actually fairly easy to correct with exercises to strengthen the pelvic floor muscles. A trained therapist can instruct you in those exercises and lifetime management strategies for bladder health.  For more information, and to schedule an appointment, please call Deanna at STARS at 367-8989.
